Jez Tryner- Newsletter September 2008

I was just reading my last newsletter and I thought it was longer ago than it actually was…so sorry for the group mail again but I think once every 6 months isn’t so bad.
I am currently in Bali again for the Komodo safari season which is going really well. Both Mermaid boats are here this year and between us all we are finding way more stuff than ever. New this year are Rhinopias (2 different types), blue ringed octopus, mimic and wonderpus and a couple of new dolphin babies on one of the sites that are fantastic to watch as their mothers teach them to hunt etc.
I have started a Komodo liveaboard blog for the trips so anyone that interested can check out what happened at the end of each week, see some photos and see what is new this week. To fit in with this I have also integrated it with an Rss feed and possibility to have it on you’re my yahoo page or as a pod cast on your ipod or phone.
Then as soon as I update it you will know, plus it will have all the latest availabilities for the boats and more news. For anyone that doesn’t know how to do this I have made a page to take you through it all.
On the magazine front I have some stuff in the works for Asian diver again, it’s been a while since I did anything for them and possibly more stuff with Scuba diver Oz later in the year.
I have been working hard on my liveaboarddiving.net website and am busily looking for people with websites that would like to link to my site to raise my profile, so if you know of anyone or you have your own site please send me a mail and we will do each other a favour. Google considers linking between sites as a recommendation for that site and hence it is viewed very favourably when it comes to a keyword search for your chosen keywords.
On the photo front I have just posted some new shots from last year in Komodo, yeah, I am running a little behind with my submissions, but I am pretty happy with them and you can really see when I bought the 10-17mm Tokina lens that is now my firm favourite lens and I would recommend to anyone,
Well that’s about it for now, Andrea and I are fine and having a week off this week and thoroughly enjoying ourselves, best wishes to all of you out there and if anyone wants to drop me a line or jump in on the website linking deal don’t hesitate,
Cheers
Jez

Jez Tryner- Newsletter April 2008

Hi ,
It's been about 6 months since my last newsletter and I just wanted to let you all know how things are going over here.
We are coming to the end of the Thailand season and it’s been pretty good, a bit of a disappointment on the whale shark and manta front but what can you do, at least the visibility was better than last year and the macro life was good.
I started a new blog this year for potential customers and interested parties that may want to dive in Thailand or are coming on our boat so if you would like to see more detail about the seaon it's here. .
Looking forward, we’ll be heading to Bali again this summer for another Bali to Komodo run and I’m really looking forward to it. The diving is great and I love Bali for it’s people and the friends we have there.
We just got back from a Burma charter, my first in a few years, so that was great as last time I was there I didn’t have a wide angle set up so this time I shot a lot of wide angle to complete my Burma portfolio. The shots are posted at these links if you would like to take a look.

My photo agencies are selling well for me and I just found out I have the cover of this months National geographic explorer magazine. This is a huge thing for me and really exciting, it has to be most photographers dream to have the cover of National geographic and I am still in shock about it.
Magazine wise I was recently interviewed for a tekki magazine for photographers and the finished article is available to view here.
I was also contacted by a large American dive magazine Scuba diving US and did a small piece for them that I haven’t seen yet and more stuff for Scuba diver Australasia in their big fish issue and 101 sites to dive before you die issues that are out this week I believe.
Thanks for reading and I hope you all are well, until next time
Cheers
Jez

-------------------------------------------------------
Hi guys ,
this is the latest newsletter to updates you to some new stuff on my site and indeed a couple of new sites from me you might want to keep your eyes on.
I recently put online a couple of new sites, the first one is to promote me and my photography personally, this site will from now be getting the majority of the new photos and video. Atmospheres.tv is still my number one site but is getting so full of photos and video that it is becoming hard to navigate and another site similar to this is what I am aiming for.
So check out www.jeztryner.com if you fancy a look at some new shots and articles that have recently come out from me.
The other site I have recently put online is www.liveaboarddiving.net and it’s an agency website from me to sell the boat I am working on and to see all the itineraries, countries and pricing that we work with.
So anyone that is thinking of joining us over here or any friends you have that may want to dive Burma, Thailand. Komodo or even the Andaman islands please check it out and book with me.
Special price for you my friend!
Thanks for reading this and I hope you are all well and please let me know what you think of the sites and if you spot any errors, I know how it’s meant to work so often overlook some obvious problems,
Cheers
Jez
